six weird habits or fun tidbits about me! (old myspace blog re-posted here)

1. I slightly have some OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Everything always has to be organized and in order. I always try to keep my place clean by making sure I do little things other people dont concern themselves with folding clothes and putting them away immediately, washing dishes right after dinner, making the bed first thing in the morning, etc. I also have to check the lights, heaters, etc. at least once before I leave even if I am positive everything is turned off. That is usually why I am running late because I feel like I cant leave until the stupidest things are taken care of. Living with Brian has made it better because I realize the small stuff doesnt really matter in the larger picture and I am working on it so it at least doesnt consume my time and make me late but its a battle.

2. I absolutely love high heel stilettos but all I normally wear are flip-flops. However, I own maybe six or seven pairs of high heels but only two pairs of flip-flops. I just find high heels so sexy and constantly want to buy them. I can also easily fall in love with a pair of high heel that must come home with me but am so picky when buying flip flops they have to be just right which most time they arent so I pass. It just doesnt make sense! Oh well, at least three things: 1) I dont have an addiction to high heels so I buy sparingly 2) I dont buy the $500 pair of name brand stilettos I keep the purchases below a $100 because buying shoes for the same price as rent is ridiculous and 3) I finally have a job where I need to dress up so now everyday I get to wear my sexy stilettos!

3. For three years in high school, I refused to wear white socks. I just found white socks boring and unoriginal so for three years I only wore colored character socks. My whole sock drawer was bursting with socks that were tie-dyed, had cartoon characters on them, or wild prints. People kept giving them to me as presents at school and for holidays. Even though I dont wear those kind of socks anymore, my grandparents still give me goofy socks every Christmas. This year my dad bought me Sponge Bob Square Pants socks. Gee, thanks dad this would have been thoughtful a few years ago! (Side note: my dad is not that unobservant; he knows I dont wear colored socks anymore. He just buys them anyway because he enjoys seeing me roll my eyes and mumble thanks while he laughs about my poor fashion sense over the years!)

4. I visit popsugar.com daily. I have no idea why it is necessary for me to know what exactly Lindsay Lohan bought yesterday, see Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling walking their dog, or what dress Jessica Alba wore to what event. Why do I continue reading pop culture gossip to know what the latest fashion trend is and then feel compelled to buy it? I mean, who cares if Britney Spears is pregnant again or if Tom Cruise jumped on another couch? Apparently I do. But oh well, I have made peace with it and simply embraced it. When I start getting subscriptions to People, Us Weekly, Star, and OK Magazine, then its time to check me into pop culture rehab.

5. My dreams are like movies. There is always a huge plot and the dream is very vivid. I always dream about friends or family members so the cast is people I know but we are always caught up in very crazy schemes or adventures that are pretty impossible. If I wake up in the middle of a dream and it isnt time to get up yet, I can fall back asleep and resume the dream as if I simply hit pause on the movie. Also, my dreams can seem so real that I have forced myself to stop in the middle of the plot and make the character of myself in my dream determine if I am asleep or not. My favorite part of this is that right after I wake up, I can remember every detail. But usually by the later half of the day, I have forgotten most of it.

6. I love math. I loved the subject all throughout my education and even thought about majoring in math. I decided not to because I dont like simply learning theories and at a certain point, I feel mathematics get so advanced its pretty impractical for most jobs or daily functions. However, in hindsight, it still might have been a more practical major than Woman Studies! If you need someone to determine statistics, percentages, or even balance your checkbook I am your girl!

i find the fact that you love math distressing. i picked my major because it didn't require that i take math.
